Day 2. After having a sunbath, let’s head to the field

We have breakfast at 6:30 on the next day. We have vegetables and rice we left yesterday. Mr Tada said “Because it was cooked by stove, it remains good when it is cool.” You can feel the sweetness and texture more today. I am so surprised!

We head to the field in this bright and sunny morning at 8:00. We start today’s work with picking onions. Mr Tada said onions are smaller this year. Although they are smaller, we picked many onions!

We remove all the weeds in front of the house. We picked all including sprouts. Cats come close to us and watch what we are doing. They are super cute!

After all the farm works, we taste a homemade plum vinegar soda. Pickling plum creates natural citric acid. This sourness is very delicious! Mrs Tada makes her own tea too! Mugwort, horsetail and black tea etc, all kinds of tea are on the shelf.

After experiencing all activities at 10:00, it is time to check out. Let say bye to the cats. Doing farm work and cooking make the 2 days and 1 night stay a fruitful one. It is very comfortable that I want to stay longer. I understand why some people stay for 1 week!

A trip of living, farming experience at Gujo!

Farming experience program varies from seasons. Rice transplanting and seeding in spring, harvesting in summer and autumn and woodchopping and preparing miso in winter. They provide day tour too.

Gujo Yamato is a rural area full of greenery. There are other farm-inns in Gujo. We highly recommend all people who want to try farming or try living in Gujo to have a stay!
