Homemade bread for morning at café eBANATAW
A over 80-year-old Kominka (Traditional Japanese house) next to Sakyo-inari, by Otohimegawa River, café eBANATAW. There are 6 counter bar seats inside the wooden café. Owner, Mr Watanabe welcomes me with a big smile.
Mr Watanabe, born in Gifu-ken, is a professional snowboarder. He wanted to start a café when he first came to Gujo. He found this empty Kominkan and fell in love in it. He finally started this café in Gujo, a place surrounded by mountains and covered with snow, in 2011.
Order a drink and a breakfast will come together for free. Mr Watanabe, also a baker, makes his homemade bread with 100% Japanese wheat. Pasta, salad and coffee jelly on a plate comes for free today. Menu changes every day. Breakfast is available till 11:30, do not worry if you wake up late.
The smell and taste of a cup of coffee depend on coffee beans. Beans are roasted at a roastery at the back of the café. Delicious water in Gujo Hachiman makes the coffee even better!
Mr Watanabe said he wants this café to be a place for social gathering. He welcomes all people, especially who come for the first time. The atmosphere here and the personality of Mr Watanabe make all customers feel loved and welcomed. Because curry rice and French toast are popular, we recommend you visit during lunch time.
Because the café closes irregularly. Please check their website before visiting. If you see the lights are on, please feel free to get in!
